BIO

Scott Fehrenbacher, President/CEO

Scott Profile 10.png

Scott is passionate about growing ministries and faith-based organizations.  To help faith-based organizations better accomplish their missions, he founded Goodbye Ordinary as a solutions consulting firm.

Scott has spent more than two decades serving as a Christian leader across all facets of ministries, denominations, and faith-based business. He has served as: 1) the CEO of a faith-based publicly traded company; 2) the CEO of a Chrisitan ministry with more than one million members; 3) the President of a division in a global denomination; and 4) a Senior Executive at three major Christian universities in the United States and Canada. In addition to his roles as a full-time professional, Scott has held board seats on several Christian boards, including multiple terms on the Gospel Music Association (GMA) board based in Nashville, Tennessee.

Throughout his experience in Christian organizations, he has observed complacency and a willingness to accept mediocrity.  His phrase "virtuous mediocrity" reflects a pattern of accepting mediocrity, even embracing mediocrity, because the risk of innovation and excellence seemed too great.

Scott recognized a similar passion from his friend Bart Millard, founder and lead singer of MercyMe, while working closely with him during tours with the Rock and Worship Roadshow. In their song, "Goodbye Ordinary", they challenged Christian ministries and organizations to not be content with the status quo, but to reach for more - for what God has prepared for them. Scott's practice was inspired by the song with the blessing of Bart and MercyMe.
